Golden week holiday boosts WCNA's tourism market

This year's combined Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day resulted in an eight-day holiday that brought a significant boost to the tourism market in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA).

The tourism industry saw a major upsurge and drove unprecedented activity in various sectors such as food and beverage, shopping, and accommodation. 

During the festival, 30 key hotels in Qingdao WCNA experienced an average occupancy rate of 62.87 percent, a significant increase of 17.9 percent compared to last year.

The new area's cultural centers, libraries and museums organized a diverse range of activities. Performances titled Travel through Qingdao WCNA combined the national intangible cultural heritage of Maoqiang with modern music, presenting an innovative development of excellent traditional culture.

The district's culture and tourism bureau launched an electronic hand-drawn map of WCNA during the holiday. 

This interactive map provides convenient and intelligent guidance for visitors, including over 140 tourist attractions, cultural sites, hotels, restaurants, culinary delights, and rural tourism spots across the entire district. It also includes search and navigation functions and is accessible through the WCNA culture and tourism bureau's official WeChat account.
