Located in Guzhenkou of Qingdao West Coast New Area, the Harbin Engineering University Qingdao Campus covers an area of 2,000 mu with a planned construction area of over 1.3 million square meters and total investment of about seven billion yuan ($1.1 billion).

With support from Harbin Engineering University in the shipping industry and marine exploitation, the campus focuses on shipping design, underwater vehicles, deep-sea engineering and new marine material development.
