WCNA hosts 1st Intel Conference of Marine Bio-organism, Health Industry

The first International Conference of Marine Bio-organism and Health Industry was held in the Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) on Aug 18.

The conference gathered more than 400 marine biology experts, scholars and company representatives from over 10 countries, including China, the UK, South Korea and Pakistan.

The conference focused on the intersection of the ocean and human health, with participants engaging in discussions about global advancements in marine biology and trends in the marine health industry.

Three parallel sessions on marine food, marine bio materials and pharmaceuticals, as well as an international graduate forum were also held alongside the main conference.

Thirty-seven experts and scholars from different countries delivered keynote speeches on topics such as innovation and development of the marine food industry, the functional components and nutritional benefits of marine food, and utilization of nearshore fisheries resources.

Bright Moon Seaweed Group, one of the conference organizers, is a company that specializes in bioproducts.

The group's focus is on advancing technology in the marine biotechnology industry, maximizing the utilization of marine biological resources, and making sure that the benefits of industry development are accessible to the public, according to Zhang Guofang, chairman of the Bright Moon Seaweed Group.
