Shandong University of Science and Technology (SDUST) was established in 1951 as a key university in Shandong province. It is jointly funded by the provincial government and the Ministry of Education.
SDUST has campuses in Qingdao, Tai'an and Jinan, covering a total area of over 2,333 hectares with a built-up area of 1.45 million square meters.
Currently, SDUST has an enrollment of more than 30,600 full-time undergraduate students and over 9,600 postgraduate students. The university boasts four academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Additionally, it has nurtured 25 national-level talents who have been selected for prestigious programs such as the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.
The university has taken on more than 700 national research projects and over 1,200 provincial-level projects. Additionally, it has been granted over 2,800 national invention patents.
SDUST has established exchange and cooperation partnerships with over 120 universities and research institutions across 23 countries and regions. The university currently has over 500 international students representing more than 60 countries.
