To promote the image of Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) as a "capital of film" in the global community and contribute to the development of the Chinese film industry, a film exhibition is scheduled to be held in the area in April.

A total of 18 delicately made films from home and abroad are expected to be showcased from April 7 to 16 at Zhongguo Cinema, Wanda Cinema City (CBD flagship store), Qingdao West Coast Cinemas (Jiayuan flagship store) and Aec Art Cinema.

Among the films, there are 13 from such countries as the UK, Italy and Japan, and the other five films are made in China, and all the films have been screened in recent years and well-received by viewers.

In 2022, Qingdao WCNA strived to build the China Movie Metropolis into a world-class film base by releasing nine action plans to upgrade the industry's infrastructure and provide better services.

During this year's Spring Festival holiday, the movie The Wandering Earth II, which was shot in Qingdao WCNA, was a hit in China and shows the highest level of China's sci-fi film making.

Up to now, the film base in Qingdao WCNA has provided services for more than 200 films and television shows and raked in more than 23 billion yuan ($3.34 billion) at the box office.
