An azalea-themed festival is scheduled to take place from April 1 to May 3 as more than 10,000 mu (about 666.67 hectares) of azaleas race to bloom at the Dazhu Mountain.
As a famous scenic spot in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA), the Dazhu Mountain boasts three kinds of azaleas, which grow wildly all over the mountain's valleys.
In addition to stunning azaleas, the scenic spot also has crab-apples, yulan magnolias and roses.
To make the festival more attractive, performances highlighting the local azalea culture is scheduled to be staged, with performers dressed in traditional Chinese clothing playing traditional Chinese musical instruments.
In collaboration with Qingdao Beer Museum, the scenic spot plans to open a prop up fair where visitors can grab drinks such as Qingdao Beer, azalea tea, eat tasty bread and local specialties, and buy souvenirs.
At the same time, an immersive play is going to be staged for visitors and embrace the beauty of the scenic spot.
The scenic spot is also joining hands with Qingdao Wild Animal World to present a series of programs for children to interact with adorable animals and play among the trees.
