The finals of the 2022 Global Information Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the launching ceremony for the 2023 Fourth Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition took place on March 16 in the Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA), East China's Shandong province.

A total of three first prizes, four second prizes, and five third prizes were awarded, with the first prizes going to the Meta Universe Ecological Solution (DRS-XR Immersion Simulation System), high-end single mode lasers and laser medical equipment, and the research and development (R&D) and industrialization of automotive sensor technology based on precision functional ceramics.

Meanwhile, the fourth edition of Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has been launched to select excellent projects globally, with a focus on strategic emerging industries such as marine technology, intelligent manufacturing, and new generation information technology. The competition aims to build a new talent recruitment model of "competition + recruitment".

In order to attract more innovative and entrepreneurial talents to settle down in the area, the local government plans to provide subsidies and support for the award-winning projects. For example, first and second prize winners have the chance to be included in the industry leading talent (team) program of Qingdao, or can be provided with free offices for up to three years.

In addition, the government aims to build a talents tank to give advice for entrepreneurs via headhunting for talents from local universities, enterprises and investment institutions.
