Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) launched a total of 13 action plans recently, which are geared to promote the city's construction and renewal.

In 2023, covering eight sectors, a total of 143 key projects are expected to be completed, with a total investment of 227 billion yuan (about $33.26 billion).

In the upcoming year, Qingdao plans to continue to build a more prosperous cultural tourism industry. Scenic spots such as Xiaozhushan Hill, Dazhushan Hill and Tangdaowan are expected to be upgraded. Themed on film culture, a commercial complex will be built near Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis. At the same time, a large number of high-standard greenways are scheduled to be completed.

As one the low-efficient areas, Qingdao Dongjiakou Chemical Industrial Park is expected to receive a total investment of 31.8 billion yuan, which will be used to promote its intensification and accelerate the coordinated development of ports, the industries and the city.

To make the area more livable, Qingdao also plans to strengthen its urban infrastructure construction. In 2023, more than 16,000 street lights are expected to be replaced, and four pocket parks and five tree-lined corridors are to be built in the city.
