Qingdao WCNA launches training course to boost cultural tourism

A three-day training course was held in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) on Feb 2. It targeted driving the integrated development of cultural and tourism industries in the region.

Zhang Lin, secretary-general of the Qingdao city government, Wang Chunsheng, inspector of Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Zhang Leina, deputy head of the Qingdao West Coast New Area, delivered keynote speeches at the opening ceremony. Representatives from Jilin, Shandong, Hunan, Guangdong, Sichuan and Shaanxi provinces exchanged views and shared their experiences for enhancing culture and tourism consumption during the event.  

The training consisted of theoretical learning, experience sharing and on-site observations. During the course, participants visited the Oriental Movie Metropolis, Golden Beach Beer City and the historical downtown area to learn more about the integrated development of various business forms covering culture, exhibitions, tourism, film and television.

More than 10 cultural and tourism companies were invited to participate in a cultural and creative market exhibition that showcased cultural products such as the mother-of-pearl craft and straw paintings from the Qin (221-206 BC) and Han (206 BC- AD220) dynasties.

There was also a cultural tourism integration development exhibition that displayed achievements in cultural heritage protection and public services.
