Qingdao film base helps produce outstanding movies

Currently, The Wandering Earth 2, a sci-fi film shot at the Qingdao film base, is being screened worldwide, and has been well-received from viewers.

Located in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA), Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis, a film and television industrial park, serves as the heart of Qingdao film base and has received a total investment of 50 billion yuan ($7.45 billion) in construction.

At the park, which is equipped with a world-class underwater production center and a digital audio-visual center, there are 40 high-standard studios, 32 supporting workshops, and a high-tech single studio that spans 10,000 square meters.

So far, there are more than 800 enterprises located in the Qingdao film base, with more than 300 films and television episodes shot here, and the total ticket sales reaching 21 billion yuan.

According to the movie producer, in the movie The Wandering Earth 2, more than 90 percent of the scenes were completed in Qingdao WCNA, with a few scenes shot overseas. So, it is easy to understand why some netizens said that the original Wandering Earth 2 was actually "wandering" in Qingdao.

In addition to The Wandering Earth 2, the Qingdao film base has helped produce a large number of outstanding movies, including Assassin in Red and Moon Man, to drive China's film industry.
