Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) held an event to open its urban renewal and construction promotional projects in the first quarter of this year at Guzhenkou Bay on Feb 1.

The official launch of 68 key projects, with a total investment of 72.7 billion yuan ($10.72 billion), took place at the event.

Covering fields including advanced manufacturing, major infrastructure and the renovation of run-down communities, the projects were launched to inject new energy into the high-quality development of the area's economy.

To make the area greener, a project integrating elements such as bays, canals and parks is under construction. Sprawling along three main roads in the area, the project is expected to create an environment for humans and nature to coexist harmoniously.

A shared parking lot located to the south of the Oriental New Star kindergarten is expected to provide a total of 75 parking spaces to ease the difficulty of parking in the surrounding area.

Based on the philosophy that upgrading the area benefits residents and the economy, Qingdao WCNA plans to launch a total of 143 projects in 2023, with a total investment of 22.7 billion yuan. As projects become completed, the area plans to create a more enabling environment for business, and become greener and more livable.
