Qingdao WCNA increases intl attraction with dazzling name cards

Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) has been presenting a dynamic image on the world stage with its four international name cards – the Metropolis of Film, the City of Beer, the Island of Music, and the Coast of Exhibition.

Qingdao WCNA boasts a thriving film and television industry. It is home to Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis, one of the largest film studio complexes in the world, and over 700 enterprises in the industry have settled there. In recent years, the place has produced a number of science fiction blockbusters.

Every year, the Qingdao International Beer Festival, one of the four largest beer festivals in the world, is celebrated in Golden Beach Beer City, the world's largest beer square, which is located in Qingdao WCNA. Taking advantage of its beer culture, the new area has been exploring new models for the tourism and culture industries by creating new consumption norms and building a consumption scenario that comprises culture, tourism and people-to-people exchanges to enhance its competitiveness and attractiveness.

The new area houses several high-quality facilities for music performances like the Sound of the Phoenix Grand Theater, which offer an extravaganza of music, plays, fashion, art and cultural activities and make it a hot spot for music event organizers and festival goers. Its Qingdao Phoenix Music Festival has been ranked among the top music festivals in China.

Known as the Coast of Exhibition domestically, Qingdao WCNA has held 298 high-end exhibitions and was rated as one of China's top 10 areas for exhibitions. It is an important venue for international large-scale events and has successfully held well-known conferences and exhibitions such as the Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia, the East Asia Marine Cooperation Platform Qingdao Forum, the Asia Agro-Food Expo and the China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition.
