Qingdao WCNA among top 10 counties for modern agriculture in Shandong

Qingdao West Coast New Area (WCNA), which is located in the coastal city of Qingdao in East China's Shandong province, was recently placed on the Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Provincial Department of Finance's list of the top 10 counties for modern agriculture in 2021.

The Qingdao WCNA has worked hard to establish itself as an example for rural vitalization and high-quality modern agriculture development in the region. It has established 12 industrial revitalization areas, 373 agricultural industrial parks, 181 livestock and poultry farms, and various agricultural industry chains worth more than 1 billion yuan ($15.71 million) each.

In the field of agriculture brand building, significant progress has been made. Twelve national geographical indication certification marks, four national well-known agricultural product brands, nine provincial well-known agricultural product brands, and 37 city-wide well-known agricultural product brands are currently part of the Qingdao WCNA.

The agricultural sector in the area has also expanded. Qingdao International Agriculture Construction Hub, a new platform for international cooperation in modern agriculture, has opened in Qingdao WCNA.

To improve efficiency, more agricultural production facilities were built. Qingdao WCNA has increased funds to support relevant construction projects as well as strengthened efforts to improve facility agriculture.
