The Qingdao West Coast New Area (WCNA) in East China's Shandong province held the first Ski Elite Challenge in Cangma town on Jan 22. Government officials, company managers and professional skiers all attended the event.

This event was jointly hosted by the Education and Sports Bureau of Qingdao West Coast New Area and the Cangma Town People's Government. It is responding to the country's call of involving 300 million people in winter sports since 2015 when Beijing successfully won the bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics.
The challenge includes two parts, namely the male and female singles snowboard slalom and the male and female doubles snowboard slalom. Three players won championship awards, three won runners-up awards and three won the second runners-up awards.

Sunac Cangma Mountain Ski Resort, which is located on Cangma Mountain, is an AAAA national-level scenic area ski resort in Qingdao. It is equipped with five ski runs and includes multiple professional ski instructors.

In addition, Aduo Huayu is a tourism town built of ancient Tang Dynasty (618-907) style and is located near Sunac Cangma Mountain Ski Resort, which is also an online popular tourist destination that offers accommodations and many outdoor activities.
