According to a recently issued list by the Shandong Provincial Big Data Bureau, China Telecom Corporation Limited Computing (Qingdao) Base was included in Shandong's first batch of provincial-level pilot new data centers.
Located in Qingdao West Coast New Area, the base has a construction area spanning 172,000 square meters, with total investment valued at about 5 billion yuan ($0.78 billion). It is one of the three China Telecom corporation computing bases.
Focused on the integration of Qingdao's digital economy development, the base is aiming to upgrade the digital transformation of enterprises.
The Qingdao base has provided customized computer rooms for Haier. It has also strengthened cooperation with Sailun Group, Jinjing Company, Haifa Group in areas of cloud computing data, 5G+ industrial internet, and cloud desktops.
In addition, it has cooperated with the management committee of the Qingdao Area of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and Sino-German EcoPark in various areas covering 5G, cloud computing, internet of things, big data and network security.
With high priority given to sci-tech innovation and talent innovation, the base has a total R&D investment valued at over 300 billion yuan, ranking it second in public cloud services and the first in hybrid cloud and government cloud services.
As the largest base of China Telecom Corporation in East China, the Qingdao base will continue to provide information services for government affairs, medical care, education and finance.
It was also included in the "Digital Shandong Development Plan (2018-22)", and the Qingdao base will stay committed to promoting the development of the West Coast New Area's digital economy to achieve win-win progress between enterprises and local authorities.
