Qingdao conference to propel marine economy

The 21st Qingdao Blue Economic International Professionals and Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Conference will open on Oct 29 in the Qingdao West Coast New Area, according to a news conference held on Oct 22 by the information office of Qingdao municipal people's government.

Focused on marine economy development, the conference will be hosted both online and offline to facilitate cooperation as well as attract projects and talents from around the world.

More than 50 overseas high-level talent projects will be promoted during the conference, said the organizing committee.

Well-known domestic academicians and experts in the field of marine sciences will be invited to attend the conference to discuss marine development strategies and provide suggestions for Qingdao's urban construction.

The conference will gather relevant overseas talents and research institutes to conduct in-depth negotiations with key enterprises in the Jiaodong Economic Circle cities.

The conference will also focus on the introduction of innovative talents, cooperation on core technological achievements and start-up of independent projects, and provide technical research and development, a start-up platform, venture capital and financing services for high-level overseas talents.

Qingdao will sign cooperation agreements with Yantai, Weifang, Weihai, Rizhao, Dongying and Binzhou to build a talent recruitment and retention platform during the conference.

As an internationally influential talent attraction activity launched by Qingdao, the conference has been held for 20 consecutive sessions since 2001. It has facilitated more than 15,000 overseas job postings, attracted more than 10,000 overseas high-level talents to sign up, and helped nearly 3,000 overseas talents stay in Qingdao.
