The Qingdao Innovation Night 2021 took place in Qingdao West Coast New Area (WCNA) on Oct 21. Guests from 16 Fortune 500 companies and experts focusing on modern ocean, digital economy, and intelligent manufacturing gathered to discuss green and sustainable development and innovative ways to achieve peak carbon emissions. During the event, the Qingdao International Marine Industry and Capital Advisory Committee was officially established.

As a State-level new area with marine economic development as its focus, WCNA's annual marine GDP accounted for more than 40 percent of its total GDP this year.
