In 2025, Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport grew significantly, reinforcing its position as a key regional aviation hub. The airport handled 193,000 flights, with a daily peak of 680, and welcomed 26.9 million passengers, setting new records since its opening. Its on-time performance ranked seventh nationally among major airports and first in East China.

The airport expanded its network by adding 14 domestic high-frequency routes and new connections to cities like Longnan and Kashgar. Internationally, it strengthened its position as a Northeast Asia gateway by launching direct flights to Shizuoka, Cheongju, and Daegu, and improved connectivity to Southeast Asian hubs like Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur. International passenger volume reached 3.315 million, ranking 9th nationally with a growth rate of 24 percent.

As a transit hub, Qingdao airport provided seamless transfers through partnerships with 42 airports, serving 2.48 million transfer passengers, including 1.19 million international transfers. It also expanded multi-modal transport by opening urban terminals and enhancing regional shuttle services.

In air cargo, the airport supported local industries by launching its first Southeast Asia freight route and operating 15 cargo lines. It handled 227,100 metric tons of cargo and pioneered smart customs processes. Notably, it enabled same-day delivery of Qingdao beer globally, earning recognition at the 2025 global trade and logistics forum.

These achievements underscore Qingdao airport's progress toward becoming a world-class aviation hub.
