Asia-Pacific research center for ICH established in Qingdao
The Asia-Pacific Research Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage was established in Qingdao on Nov 28. The center aims to serve as a high-level platform for the protection and research of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) across the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to create an integrated platform linking research, communication, and practice.
Three key objectives guide its mission: first, to establish a collaborative platform facilitating experience-sharing and practical cooperation in ICH safeguarding among Asia-Pacific countries; second, to promote the creative integration of ICH with contemporary life, thereby energizing cultural innovation and industrial development; and third, to enhance youth awareness and participation in ICH through educational programs and digital outreach, fostering future inheritors and guardians of cultural heritage.
Both founding parties have offered their full support for the center's development and look forward to partnering with domestic and international organizations to jointly explore innovative ways to protect and revitalize intangible cultural heritage.
