The 138th China Import and Export Fair wrapped up on Nov 4, with the Qingdao delegation achieving impressive results. According to the Qingdao Commerce Bureau, the delegation included a record 881 enterprises across 1,306 booths, featuring 42 brand enterprises. Total transactions reached $910 million.

As a measure of China's foreign trade, this year's fair emphasized the nation's industrial upgrade, with over 350,000 smart products on display. Qingdao's home appliance giants stood out by integrating advanced artificial intelligence (AI) into daily life, boosting their global competitiveness amid industry homogenization.

Haier Smart Home demonstrated its leadership with the theme "AI for home, AI for you". Its AI-driven products, including the first DeepSeek-powered Boguan refrigerator and triple-drum washing machine, offered hands-free smart living experiences.

Similarly, Hisense focused on "AI your life", showing technologies like the 116-inch RGB MiniLED TV and an award-winning laser home cinema. In Hisense's AI Your Home zone, the ConnectLife AI agent, making its debut in China, transforms standalone products into contextual smart partners.

The fair saw a strong return of international buyers. Wang Lei from Qingdao Jifa Group experienced non-stop inquiries, engaging clients from Spain and Chile seeking sustainable and functional materials.

"Countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative are bringing higher demands for eco-friendly and high-tech textiles," Wang noted, "and meeting these needs keeps us competitive."

Behind these successes is Qingdao's proactive support system. The city has implemented multi-dimensional policies to help enterprises explore opportunities, foster brands, and embrace cross-border e-commerce, steadily reinforcing Qingdao's role in stabilizing regional foreign trade.
