Shandong Port Overseas Development Group has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC), marking a key step in its Southeast Asia market expansion.

The partnership will see the two sides collaborate comprehensively in port operations, logistics networks, technological upgrades, multimodal transport, and smart-green port development.

VIMC, a leading Vietnamese shipping and port operator with a wide network covering key areas like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, will leverage Shandong Port Group's (SPG) expertise in automated terminals and green port construction. SPG will provide world-class port operation and management services to enhance the efficiency and service capacity of Vietnamese ports. Joint efforts will focus on creating logistics and cold-chain hubs to facilitate trade in high-value goods between China and Vietnam.

The cooperation also aims to explore equipment upgrades and technological improvements to promote smarter and greener port operations in Vietnam. This will strengthen SPG's service capabilities in Southeast Asia and boost its brand influence in ASEAN markets.
