Haier to sharpen focus on tech innovation, new quality productive forces

appliance manufacturer Haier Group will strive for technological
innovation and bolster the development of new quality productive forces
while contributing to the building of China's strength in manufacturing,
said Zhou Yunjie, chairman and CEO of the company.
Zhou, who is a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress, China's top legislature, said Haier is committed to building its own brand through globalization and has been the world's largest household appliance maker for 16 consecutive years.
Currently, the company has established 10 research and development centers around the world, launched more than 200 innovative products, and taken the lead in formulating over 100 international standards, Zhou said at this year's first deputies' passage interview on Wednesday, just before the third session of the 14th NPC.
Zhou added Haier mainly focuses on three business segments, namely smart home, industrial internet, and healthcare, and it will make greater efforts to boost the deeper integration of sci-tech innovation and industrial innovation.
