The consumer market of the coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province has witnessed a surge in activity, driven by enthusiasm for cultural activities, winter sports, and tourism during the New Year holiday.

Taking advantage of the festive season, various districts, cities, and key commercial enterprises in Qingdao organized more than 100 distinctive promotional activities in eight major sectors, which stimulated consumers' enthusiasm for shopping, enhanced their sense of satisfaction and fulfillment, and contributed to a flourishing and active consumer market throughout the holiday period.

According to official statistics, during the three-day New Year holiday, the top 10 key commercial monitoring enterprises or groups in the city achieved sales of 236 million yuan ($33 million), an increase of 8.3 percent compared to the same period last year. The top 10 key catering enterprises achieved a turnover of 47 million yuan, a growth of 28.8 percent compared to the same period last year.

Jiaozhou city in Qingdao held an ice and snow festival, which marked the beginning of a series of consumer promotion activities this year.

Jimo Ancient City held the first Jingdezhen Ceramic Art Masterpieces and Practical Utensils Exhibition, with over 100 works by ceramic artists on display. Visitors were treated to traditional opera, hot springs, aged liquor, and exhibitions. They also had the chance to witness a light-up dragon dance, a light show, and an immersive theatrical experience.

Meanwhile, Wanda Plaza in the Qingdao West Coast New Area launched a special event for the New Year, offering food, drink, entertainment, starlight waterfalls, and a romantic fireworks display. The event created a romantic atmosphere, filled with love and warmth. There were also concerts and dance performances, allowing people to enjoy the charm of music and dance while indulging in delicious food and beautiful scenery.
