The infrastructure of Qingdao has been improved in recent years following the implementation of the three-year action plan for urban renewal and construction.

Since the beginning of this year, Qingdao has been striving to construct a backbone road network system, eliminate existing unconnected roads, and add pedestrian overpasses to make the daily commute of its residents more convenient.

Local authorities have also implemented the "Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality" strategy and carried out the "coal-to-gas" project for clean heating to reduce carbon emissions and enhance the quality of the ecological environment.

Moreover, the city has systematically strengthened the construction of heating, gas, sanitation and water facilities.

Due to continuous progress in urban renewal and construction, Qingdao has achieved significant results in its city infrastructure road network. Currently, the "Four Verticals and Five Horizontals" express road network in the Dongan urban area has taken shape and is 73.6 percent complete.

The continuous efforts in urban renewal and construction have greatly improved the living environment in Qingdao, making it more livable, business-friendly and tourist-friendly.
