A list of Shandong provincial industrial heritage items was announced, with 11 landmarks from 11 cities in the province included on Dec 18. One of the landmarks is the Qingdao Post and Telecommunications Museum, located on Anhui Road in Qingdao's Shinan district.

Built on the former site of the German Jiaozhou Postal Bureau, the Qingdao Post and Telecommunications Museum covers an area of 1,400 square meters, with each section serving a different purpose.

The first floor of the museum acts as the reception hall, while the second floor is the main exhibition area. On the fourth floor, there is a tower which serves as a coffee shop and library.

The museum combines modern industrial heritage, European-style architecture, and postal and telecommunications themes, with a diverse collection of over 1,000 cultural relics, including antique telephones and historical photographs.

One of the notable exhibits on the second floor is the Ericsson artificial magnet telephone, produced in 1905. This telephone, with its wooden case and resemblance to a piece of architecture, is a rare and valuable artifact. Only a few of them exist today that can still make calls using telecommunication lines.
