This year, Shibei district in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, has made efforts to build it into a prosperous, beautiful, and happy modern international city area.

Over the past year, Beicheng District has been committed to providing better services for the public. Thirty-seven out of 40 district-level livelihood projects have been completed, with 22 "Happy Home" service stations and 1,314 employment service commissioners serving the residents. A total of 42,700 new jobs have been created.

Thirty-five cultural and artistic venues, such as city libraries and courtyard performances spaces, have been built in the district, along with 1,800 new sports and fitness equipment. More than 5,000 cultural and sports events have been organized, which have enriched the residents' spiritual and cultural life.

In the past year, Shibei district has strived to create a beautiful life for its residents. Over 8,800 households have benefited from public rental housing and subsidized rental housing. The renovation of 52,000 old residential areas has been completed, meeting various needs such as energy-saving, elevator installation, parking planning, and property management. The demolition and reconstruction of residential buildings in Hexi and Yantan areas have been efficiently completed, achieving the historic clearance of urban villages and bringing the vision of a beautiful new community that integrates industry and city. Eleven hill parks have been renovated and upgraded, and parks such as Fushan Forest Park, Taiping Mountain Park, and Qilu Health and Sports Park have been built and opened to the public. A 4.8-kilometer coastal promenade for walking and cycling has been created along the east coast of Jiaozhou Bay, making the vibrant coastline even more beautiful, adding a touch of charm to Shibei.
