The Laoshan Mountain Scenic Area in Qingdao has experienced its hottest summer tourism season with a surge in visitor numbers, according to the scenic area's managing committee.

From January to August 2023, tourists made 3.97 million trips to the scenic area, a year-on-year increase of 56 percent. Taking advantage of the summer holiday to visit the enchanting mountain by the sea has become the top choice for many youngsters and their families.
