From Sept 10, Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport will open a direct passenger flight to Kathmandu, Nepal, which will be the first direct flight from Shandong province to Nepal.

The flights will follow the third passenger route to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries operated by the Qingdao airport after flights to Moscow and Dubai this year.

The new flight route will further enhance connectivity between Qingdao and the SCO countries and better promote the construction of the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area, also known as SCODA.

The route will be operated by Himalaya Airlines every Sunday, leaving Qingdao at 16:10 and landing in Kathmandu at 19:50. The return flight departs from Kathmandu at 7:00 and lands in Qingdao at 14:55. The flights will last 5 hours and 55 minutes.

An international air route is an air bridge connecting a city with the world. Qingdao is a leading city in Shandong province that is open to the outside world. Its international airline network is accessible, which provides convenient conditions for developing foreign trade and cultural tourism.

At present, passenger flights from Qingdao to Japan and South Korea have reached 20 per day, providing a rich choice for passengers from all over the world to transfer to Japan and South Korea via Qingdao.

Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport now has resumed more than 20 international passenger and cargo routes to destinations such as Seoul, Busan, Osaka, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Dubai, London, Moscow, Sydney and Melbourne.
