Orix expands investment in Qingdao
Orix Corporation, a Fortune Global 500 company, recently set up another company in Qingdao, Shandong province with 200 million yuan ($29.03 million) in registered capital.
Orix Financial Leasing (Qingdao) Co, which is wholly owned by Orix Financial Leasing (China) Co, is registered in the Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
The Orix Financial Leasing (China) Co was founded in 2005 by Orix and registered in Shanghai, and is the largest Japanese financial leasing enterprise in China.
In September 2021, Orix set up a branch in Qingdao, which marked the city's first industrial operation headquarters of a Fortune Global 500 company.
Orix was founded in 1964, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and the largest non-bank financial institution and the largest integrated financial services group in Japan, and has a diversified business portfolio and a global business layout.
It has branches in nearly 40 countries and regions around the world that are involved with dozens of industries in the financial and industrial fields. Its main businesses include banking, insurance, asset management, investment banking, leasing, environmental protection and new energy, real estate, and tourism. It manages assets worth more than $600 billion.
In 2022, Orix ranked 343rd on the Forbes Global 2000 list, which is an annual ranking of the top 2,000 public companies in the world.
In 1981, Orix and CITIC Group introduced the financial leasing business model in China and established the first financial leasing company in China as a joint venture.
