Laixi to build national agricultural modernization demonstration zone

Laixi, a county-level city in Qingdao, Shandong province, has been selected as the site of a national agricultural modernization demonstration zone.

Laixi is a major agricultural city with a solid agricultural foundation and distinctive industrial characteristics in Shandong.

It has won more than 10 honorary titles, such as national modern agriculture demonstration area, Shandong model county for rural vitalization, pilot county for taking the lead in realizing agricultural and rural modernization, and national advanced grain production county.

It has introduced a batch of high-quality agricultural projects covering industrial chains of milk, broiler chickens, pork, vegetables, fruits, and peanuts. The city has cultivated 11 provincial-level agricultural industrialization complexes, and 65 agricultural industrialization enterprises that are leading in Qingdao.

Laixi has built more than 10 agricultural industrial parks and other industrial integration development platforms to support agriculture with industry, and rural areas with urban development.

The city has beefed up efforts to promote coordinated development between rural and urban areas, advance rural vitalization on all fronts, consolidate and expand the achievements made in poverty alleviation in coordination with the extensive drive for rural vitalization.
