New cruise route links Shinan, Laoshan

A new two-way cruise route connecting the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center in Shinan district and Laoshan Mountain scenic area was launched on Aug 31 in Qingdao, Shandong province.
The one-way trip is about 18 nautical miles (33.34 kilometers) and passes by Xiaomai Island, Qingdao Sculpture Park, Kaolao Island, Laogong Island and Taiqing Bay, which takes about 80 minutes.

The route connects two of Qingdao's most famous scenic locations, and tour guides provide expert explanations of regional facts. Tourists can expect to see genuine Qingdao scenery, including the sea and mountains. The route is currently serviced by a Qingdao Tourism No 002 luxury cruise ship, which was put into use in March 2021 and is capable of accommodating 150 passengers.

Starting Aug 31, the ship operates one tour per day based on the weather conditions. The ship sets off from the Olympic Sailing Center at 10 am and heads for Taiqing Wharf in Laoshan. The return trip departs at 2 pm.
The price for a one-way trip is 128 yuan ($18.55) until Dec 31.
