The eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province will renovate 60 hilltop parks and build a number of new urban parks, according to this year's Qingdao municipal government work report.

Efforts will be made to promote urban planning and development of parks, and build a number of high-quality urban parks, hilltop parks and pocket parks, so that people can have access to more urban green spaces, local officials said.

Qingdao has launched a three-year action plan for urban renewal and construction, which will fully release the value of urban green resources, and build a park city with beautiful ecological spaces, livable and moderate living spaces, and intensive and efficient production spaces, with distinctive regional cultural characteristics.
