A variety of online activities have been held in Shinan district, Qingdao, to enrich people's lives, as many residents have had to stay at home due to the recent resurgence of COVID-19 cases.

For example, an online poem sharing event was held in the evening of March 19, attracting more than 200 participants including primary school, middle school and university students. They read classic works and shared their self-written pieces to enjoy the charm of poetry.

Although the district library has been closed, it offers online reading sessions and lessons, as well as book delivery services to meet locals' diverse demands. The library also disinfects its public area every day to prepare for its reopening.

In addition, the Shinan Zhenlu Navigation Museum held an online lecture with over 600 primary school students in attendance and included live streaming, after-class writing, and handwritten newspaper reporting.

"The lecture deepened my understanding of the importance of a country's sea power and taught me the critical role that Qingdao has played in the country's maritime affairs from ancient times," a student said.
