Shinan district in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province is accelerating the restoration of Zhongshan Road, a century-old business district established in 1897. The district is also revitalizing leading and established brands in an effort to attract world-renowned brands and develop its own fashion sector.

For the older generations of Qingdao locals, Zhongshan Road has long been known as the center of the city's fashion industry.

As the main block of the old city , Zhongshan Road is worthy of its title as the "mother street" of Qingdao, boasting 265 provincial and municipal excellent historical buildings, 57 former residences of celebrities, and eight historical and cultural blocks. Its historical and cultural value cannot be matched.

"We forward the preservation of eight century-old buildings on the road with awe and human conscience," said a person in charge.
