The 2021 World Virtual Reality Innovation Conference was held in Qingdao, Shandong province on Sept 29 in conjunction with the launch ceremony of Qingdao Virtual Reality Industry College.

The conference was hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Qingdao municipal people's government. It attracted 300, including officials, experts, and entrepreneurs to discuss the VR industry.

"As Shandong promotes the development of the VR industry, this conference serves as an international platform for technology exchanges, which will greatly promote the high-quality development of China's VR industry," said Ling Wen, vice-governor of Shandong.

An exhibition showcasing the cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements of the VR industry was held during the event, covering the products of Goertek, Hisense, and Shandong Virtual Reality Manufacturing Innovation Center.

In addition, a professor at the Beijing Institute of Technology, the general secretary of the French Laval Virtual Reality Alliance, and other distinguished experts conducted exchanges on the core technologies of virtual reality and VR development engines.

Qingdao has hosted the conference four times, attracting experts from various countries like Russia, the United States, and France. During these conferences, the technological achievements of more than 1,000 companies and scientific institutions, such as Huawei and Microsoft, have been showcased.
