The South China Sea Underwater Cultural Heritage Exhibition is now underway at the Qingdao Museum, displaying 211 sets of precious cultural relics from Huaguangjiao No 1, an 800-year-old shipwreck from the Southern Song Dynasty (1127–1279).

The shipwreck was discovered by fishermen in 1996. More than 10,000 porcelain objects and 511 ship plates were excavated from the sunken vessel between 1998 and 2008.

The exhibition, which will last until June 6, will document China's trade with foreign countries along the ancient Maritime Silk Road.
