According to a work conference on traffic and transportation held on Feb 8, Qingdao is aiming to build a modern comprehensive transportation network by 2025. This network will enable a 40-minute commute between the main urban area and the other districts, and a 1.5-hour commute between Qingdao and the Jiaodong Economic Circle. The network will also allow people to travel from Qingdao to the country's major aviation hubs within three hours.

This year, which marks the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Qingdao will intensify efforts to promote strategic research on transportation, advance construction of transportation infrastructures and speed up traffic integration within the Jiaodong Economic Circle.

Measures will also be taken to deepen supply-side structural reform and enhance epidemic prevention and control as well as traffic safety emergency work, said local officials.
