Qingdao recognized for sailing events

The eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province has received a number of annual awards issued by the Chinese Yachting Association, including the 2020 Excellent Sailing City Award.

The "2020 Qingdao International Sailing Week and Qingdao International Marine Festival", a famous sailing event hosted by the Qingdao Major International Sailing Events (Festival) Organizing Committee, won the "2020 Excellent Sailing Event Award".

The Qingdao Sports Training Center, the Qingdao Navigation Sports School, the Qingdao Sailing Management Center, and a local sailing club also won awards for helping promote sailing sports.

Qingdao boasts a spectacular oceanfront playground for all kinds of water sports along its 863-kilometer shoreline. The city is considered China's sailing capital and has a thriving water sports industry.

It has hosted the sailing events for the 2008 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as a large number of major international sailing events, including the Volvo Ocean Race, the Extreme Sailing Series, the Sailing World Cup, and the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. It has also been hosting self-owned brand sailing events in recent years.
