Innovation and entrepreneurship event underway in Qingdao

The 2020 Qingdao International Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week kicked off on Nov 7 in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province.

Running until Nov 12, the event will be held via online and offline channels. More than 10 recruitment fairs will take place over the period, in a bid to attract high-end talents from home and abroad to facilitate local industrial upgrading and development.

The city's districts and counties are also hosting various supporting activities to promote local economic development and enlarge their talent pool.

The 2020 China Qingdao Blue Economic International Professionals and Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Conference, a vital part of the event, was held on Nov 9 in Qingdao West Coast New Area.

More than 150 overseas talents from over 20 countries, including the United States, Germany and France, took part in the conference and negotiated partnerships with Qingdao-based companies and institutions.

At the conference, Qingdao has released 3,651 positions from 13 industries that urgently need to be filled. These jobs cover sectors such as Qingdao's new generation of information technology, medical care and industrial internet.

The city welcomes more outstanding overseas returnees to work or start businesses here, said local officials, who added that more measures and policies to facilitate innovation and entrepreneurship would be launched.
