The sixth German Wine Festival will kick off on Sept 19 in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province.

The German Wine Festival is a celebratory cultural event and the only German wine festival that has been held five times in a row in China.

In addition to locals and foreign entrepreneurs in Qingdao, a large number of European and American entrepreneurs attend each year from all over China and from abroad.

The wine festival offers a choice of German and Austrian wines, local and western delicacies, and a varied selection of live music. It has become a custom for local and international communities of Qingdao.

The wine festival was organized by Wine529, a German company founded in Qingdao in 2015, and the 2020 event will be co-organized by Deutsch-Chinesischer Treffpunkt Qingdao (DCT).

This year, the event has more than 40 sponsors and partners, including Audi AG, Bondex, Chengfa Jituan, and Qingdao Guangxing Electronic Materials Co. Over 10,000 people are expected to participate in the event.

According to organizers, the event serves as an international exchange platform and a way to promote European and German culture.

Wine529 imports German and Austrian premium wines from small and medium-sized independent wine estates and sells them directly in China to guarantee quality and fair prices.

The DCT Qingdao, based in the Qingdao Sino-German EcoPark, provides a platform for cooperation and communication among enterprises, institutions, and people from China and Germany.
