Recently, Shandong province's first medical insurance workstation of medical insurance bureau in hospital was put into operation in Qingdao West Coast New Area Central Hospital.

In the future, insured residents can enjoy medical insurance services nearby and complete one-stop medical insurance procedure at the same time they receive treatment in hospital.

The medical insurance workstation is directly affiliated by the area's medical insurance bureau. Its staff is dispatched by the medical insurance bureau, having the same business right as the staff of government service hall.

Most of the business that used to be handled at the medical insurance window in the government service hall can now be handled at the medical insurance workstation in the hospital, which brings great convenience to patients and their family members.

"Besides the application for serious diseases of outpatient service department, we also provide more services and convenience for citizens. In the following step, the medical insurance workstation in the hospital will include all services of the medical insurance window of government service hall," said Lu Chenguang, director of information department of medical security bureau of the Qingdao West Coast New Area.

At present, nine hospitals and community medical institutions in the Qingdao West Coast New Area have set up the workstations, including the medical insurance workstation of Qingdao West Coast New Area Central Hospital, making residents more convenient to enjoy medical insurance service.
