Added value of Qingdao's health industry reaches 76.89b yuan

Qingdao has rich mountain and sea resources and excellent ecological environment, which lays a solid foundation for the development of health industry. 

In 2018, the added value of the health industry in Qingdao was expected to reach 76.89 billion yuan ($11.13 billion), leading the province.

In recent years, with the implementation of Healthy China, Healthy Shandong and Healthy Qingdao, people's health awareness is consistently being reinforced, driving health industry to grow at a rapid pace.

A number of high-end medical care institutions such as Qilu Hospital of Shandong University and New Century of Women's and Children's Hospital have settled down in Qingdao. 

Quality projects of high technological health industry are under incubation. Health industry gathering platforms including PKU Care Industrial Park and Jimo hot spring health care town are rapidly being built.

Qingdao is fully pushing forward the development of health industry by establishing national regional medical center, world-class health city and a number of industrial clusters and bases. It expects to have 170 billion yuan of added value in health industry in 2022.

Qingdao focuses on domestic and overseas high-end and quality high-tech enterprises, which has gathered more than 100 health industry projects and the signed and under constructed projects with total investment of over 100 billion yuan.

Qingdao provides "one to one" service mechanism for key projects in order to further push forward the implementation of these projects. 

Until now it has set up 11 special work teams to carry out major projects such as Qingdao Project of Harvard Medical Innovation Center and Qingdao Health Industry Base of Neptunus.
