The 2018 International IC Industry Investment (Qingdao) Summit was held on July 5 in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province, offering experience and advice for the local development of the integrated circuit industry. 

With the theme of “IC Dream, New Energy”, the summit gathered more than 400 distinguished guests from home and abroad, including government officials, academicians, and representatives from research institutes, integrated circuit companies and institutional investors. 

Jointly organized by the Jimo district government, the Qingdao City Construction Investment (Group) Co Ltd and the Walden International, the summit is designed to advance regional industrial upgrading and build an industrial communication and investment promotion platform, so as to respond to the call of the Shandong provincial government and Qingdao municipal government to replace old economic development drivers with new ones. 

Founded in 2008, the Qingdao City Construction Investment (Group) Co Ltd primarily engages in the construction and development of urban and rural projects. Based on the integration of merging industry and urban construction, the company has been exploring a new development model of “science + finance + property” since 2015 and promoting its transformation and upgrading. 

Through cooperating with renowned funds at home and abroad, the company has built a heavyweight fund group with total assets exceeding 68 billion yuan ($10.3 billion) and built an industrial capital investment attraction platform. At present it has introduced several projects from leading semiconductor enterprises such as Will Semiconductor Co Ltd and Shenzhen HIVAC Group to Qingdao. 

At the summit, the Jimo district government and the Qingdao City Construction Investment (Group) Co Ltd also signed cooperation agreements with world-renowned semiconductor enterprises such as the Beijing NAV Technology Co Ltd, the TRS Microelectronics Co Ltd and the Silergy Corp to settle several projects in the Jimo-based Qingdao Microelectronics Industrial Park.
