The 2026 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival and Huangdao agricultural products harvest season market kicked off on Sept 19 in the Qingdao West Coast New Area. Over 40 agricultural entities and enterprises showcased more than 100 premium local specialties, including Haiqing tea, Baoshan apples, Langya chickens, and Lingshan Island sea cucumbers.
The bustling venue featured lively exhibition booths where visitors tasted freshly brewed tea, sampled crisp apples, and explored deep-processed blueberry products. Integrating physical sales with interactive experiences, the event connected farm fields directly with urban markets. Concurrently, the Baoshan apple carnival campaign promoted premium fruit varieties through livestreaming and traditional instrumental performances.
The celebration attracted over 35,000 visitors, generating more than 3,000 intended orders and 3 million yuan ($444,540) in transactions. To enrich the festive ambiance, the event collaborated with a regional university singing competition, infusing youthful energy into traditional farming culture. Digital promotion channels further expanded the area's market reach.
According to Xue Ding from the local agricultural bureau, the market serves as both a commercial platform and a brand promotion window, elevating local agricultural fame and boosting farmers' confidence in broadening their sales channels.
