Movie Town Backstreet launches summer beer carnival

Running from July 10 to Aug 30, the 2026 Movie Town Backstreet Beer Festival is about to kick off in the Qingdao West Coast New Area. By seamlessly integrating craft beer, gastronomy, live entertainment, and dazzling light displays, this comprehensive event will create an innovative, consumption-driven summer tourism destination for locals and tourists alike.

Throughout the festival, the venue will host nearly 100 diverse performances. The Qingdao West Coast Art Center theater is presenting a dynamic summer season filled with concerts, magic shows, and traditional operas.

Highlights include weekly stand-up comedy routines and nightly performances of errenzhuan (two-person opera). Furthermore, the block is actively elevating its cultural landscape by hosting top-tier national events, including the 7th China Youth Violin Concerto Competition, international string master classes, and the 2026 Yamaha China Electronic Keyboard Competition.

Beyond the arts, the outdoor beer square offers a vibrant culinary experience. Visitors can savor fresh draft beer, local seafood, and barbecued meat and vegetables while enjoying live DJ sets and 2026 FIFA World Cup broadcast highlights.

Complementing this, the local streets have been completely transformed by immersive lighting installations, such as giant illuminated canopy umbrellas and artistic "moonlight trees", offering a visually stunning nighttime experience for visitors. This perfect fusion of high-quality art and leisure solidifies the area's reputation as a premier summer getaway.
