For the upcoming 2026 Chinese New Year, the Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) has launched the Celebrate Chinese New Year in Qingdao WCNA campaign, featuring 82 curated events.

This comprehensive program includes festive carnivals, ice sports, rural traditions, cultural arts, and commercial activities, offering an immersive holiday experience that balances heritage with modern trends.

The festive carnivals section includes 27 major festivals, featuring an improved lantern festival, which combines technology with ice sculptures. Traditional folk customs are highlighted at the Langya Sea Sacrifice Festival, while the mini-beer festival and professional sports matches add youthful energy. For families, interactive horse-themed parades and ice and snow-themed installations offer heartwarming spaces for reunion.

The area's winter charm is further highlighted by 11 ice and snow events, from professional downhill skiing leagues at the Cangmashan Ski Resort to amusement parks.

Meanwhile, 34 rural experiences offer visitors a chance to "unlock" the countryside through intangible cultural heritage markets, strawberry picking, and stove-side tea in traditional courtyards.

Artistic enrichment is a key aspect of the season. From dragon dances and opera nights to a New Year paintings exhibition at the Yellow Box Art Museum, Qingdao WCNA blends cultural depth with modern lifestyle, ensuring a spirited and high-quality celebration.

Finally, a major consumer season with over 100 merchants across key business districts ensures a bustling festive atmosphere, effectively integrating cultural charm with economic vitality to welcome the Year of the Horse.
