Shinan forum explores technology and finance cooperation

A sub-forum of the 2026 Qingdao Venture Capital Conference was held in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province, on July 8, focusing on the role of technological innovation and financial support in fostering future industries.
The event featured keynote speeches and a roundtable discussion, bringing together experts, scholars and representatives of investment institutions to explore cooperation among technology, capital and industry.
During the forum, Hou Yunchun, a researcher at the Development Research Center of the State Council, discussed how cooperation among technology, industry and finance can support innovation and new quality productive forces.
Zheng Wenxian, vice-president of AI company Intellifusion, shared examples of AI applications across industries, highlighting new investment opportunities created by AI development.
Zhou Daohong, chairman of Sun Rock Capital, explored how technological changes are reshaping investment strategies for future industries and providing new directions for investors.
The roundtable forum focused on how technology finance can drive industrial innovation. Representatives from investment institutions discussed cooperation between local governments and investment institutions, fund investment, venture capital development, and ways to improve the innovation ecosystem. They also discussed how investors can balance risk management with the patient capital needed to support long-term innovation.
Shinan said it will continue improving its business environment and venture capital ecosystem while promoting closer links among technology, industry, and finance. With AI as a key driver, the district plans to attract more investment funds and technology projects, improve supporting services, and promote high-quality economic development.
