Haitian Hotel, in Shinan district, Qingdao, has been recognized as a time-honored brand in Shandong province, becoming the first five-star tourist hotel in the city to receive the designation.
The honor recognizes the hotel's decades-long history, service quality, and contribution to the city's hospitality industry.
Established in 1985, Haitian Hotel was one of Qingdao's earliest high-end hotels serving international guests. As this sector began to develop during the country's reform and opening-up period, the hotel became a venue for major diplomatic, business, and cultural events.
Over the years, Haitian Hotel has built a reputation for high-quality service and international recognition. It was named a five-star tourist hotel in 1997 and later received international recognition for its service standards. The hotel has hosted numerous foreign leaders and government officials over the years, becoming an important window for Qingdao's engagement with the outside world.
In 2021, the renovated Haitian Hotel reopened as a five-star seaside hotel under Qingdao Conson Development Group. Featuring 501 guest rooms with modern amenities, the hotel retains elements of the original building in the design, including its distinctive layered window decoration.
Since its reopening, the hotel has continued to serve as a venue for major international events and business conferences in Qingdao. With its latest recognition as a Shandong time-honored brand, Haitian Hotel continues to represent the city's hospitality tradition while adapting to the needs of modern travelers.
