Shinan district in Qingdao is accelerating the development of its AIGC and OPC sectors, injecting fresh momentum into the regional digital economy.

Since the start of 2026, AI-generated content has reached a new stage of industrialized, high-quality production, with rapid advancements in short dramas, animation, and popular science content. In response, Shinan has quickly strengthened its digital cultural industry. The district has supported the construction of the Qingdao AIGC-OPC Industrial Base, promoted the Qingdao IP-AIGC Industrial Base, and attracted many promising AIGC companies.

Established in March at the Qingdao Digital Economy Industrial Park, the Qingdao AIGC-OPC Industrial Base has already gathered more than 20 enterprises. By collaborating with leading platforms such as Hongguo Short Drama and Taobao Short Drama, the base is building a comprehensive ecosystem that includes content creation, production, and commercialization.

The base was recently highlighted as a representative micro-drama base case in an annual industry report released at the 16th Beijing International Film Festival Film Carnival. Its original AIGC works have generated hundreds of millions of views and won nearly 20 awards at major competitions.

Looking ahead, Shinan aims to expand AIGC and OPC applications in tourism, fashion, and marine technology, transforming digital creativity into a new driver of high-quality growth.
