The recognition is an important milestone for Shinan as it continues to integrate its coastal resources, urban heritage and industrial strengths. In recent years, the district has built a comprehensive tourism model connecting mountains, sea, bays and the city, with the front-sea area as a key driver and coordinated development across its eastern and western areas.
Home to core resources along one of the world's most beautiful bays, Shinan has 12 A-level scenic spots and 20 star-rated hotels. It also hosts more than 80 high-end forums, exhibitions and sporting events each year, supported by major events such as Olympic Sailing events and the SCO Qingdao Summit.
The district has strengthened its marine tourism brand with 19 featured routes, including night tours of Fushan Bay and seagull-watching trips, as well as 33 types of cruise, sailing and boating products. It has also developed marine study tours by linking research institutes, museums, marine engineering projects and national defense education resources.
Looking ahead, Shinan will further optimize its coastal tourism layout, advance key projects, upgrade its industrial chain and build itself into a core area for international coastal tourism and vacations.
